The Outram Road Project

Situated in an impressive Georgian mansion built in the 1800’s, we transformed a neglected one bedroom basement apartment into a contemporary, light and modern two bedroom home for a young professional couple.

This project required extensive restoration throughout, we managed the renovations and we interior designed the project from start to finish, settling on a base palette of medium grey and brilliant white to keep the space bright and airy. After considering the flow of the space we made the decision to keep the colour scheme cohesive throughout the apartment due to each room branching from one main entrance hall.

The property has a total of just five rooms so we added a home office and utility closet in the oversized entrance hallway creating two bonus areas both of which are unexpected in compact city living.

We designed this home for an elegant couple so for an injection of glamour we added an opulent feature wall to the master bedroom selecting Farrow and Ball ‘Drawing Room’ blue and also installing a custom designed “His & Hers” mirrored closet to house the couple’s impressive shoe collection. We also created a second bedroom by moving the kitchen into the new open plan kitchen/ living room therefore freeing up a room earmarked for a future nursery which currently acts as a guest room.

The bathroom was inspired by ‘Hotel Luxe’ installing a custom vanity with “His & Hers’ hand selected Carrera marble sinks. The open plan kitchen and living room is modern with clean lines and the kitchen that includes an island that also doubles as a dining table and a stunning white SMEG fridge- freezer.
