Situated in a four-story period town house this large one-bedroom basement property had been abandoned for two years and was in a state of disrepair when we sourced it as an investment purchase for our client.
Impressed by our property finding services the client also selected His & Hers Renovations & Interiors to Interior Design and project manage the extensive renovations on their behalf.
Our goal was to reinstate a few key original Victorian decorative features to reflect the building’s heritage. Therefore, we selected Victorian Style skirting boards, architraves and plaster cornice for the property as well as selecting a classic stone fireplace for the master bedroom. The client also wished to team these original features with a high spec finish in a neutral grey and white decor, as they intended for this investment to become a rental property that would go on to achieve a maximum rental yield.
By redesigning the internal layout we managed to add a second small bonus room suitable for an office or baby’s nursery by relocating the kitchen to the largest room creating a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining space.
